Dr. Steven S. Mehta, MD, FACC![]() Dr. Mehta received his Medical Degree from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1984. His cardiology training was completed at the University of Louisville, with an additional year of Interventional Cardiology at the Arizona Heart Institute, in Phoenix, Az. He served as the Director of Cardiovascular Intervention at the former Heart Institute of the Desert in Rancho Mirage, Ca, and returned to Arizona in 1993. Since that time, he has served as Chairman of Cardiology and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Division of Cardiology at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center, and also serves on their Governing Board of Directors. Dr. Mehta specializes in Interventional Cardiology, including coronary and peripheral angioplasty and stent insertion, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He has published over a dozen articles on Interventional Cardiology, and performed the first coronary laser angioplasty in China, where he had been invited to teach angioplasty techniques. Dr. Mehta has been named one of the Phoenix Magazine's "Top Docs", has been featured in the "Arizona Republic" newspaper and "Arizona Monthly" magazine, hosted the Samaritan Healthcare System's medical talk show "Arizona Healthstyles", and has been an industry proctor for various interventional devices. Dr. Mehta is the founder and Medical Director of Northern Arizona Heart Consultants and the Heart Center of Northeastern Arizona. When time allows, Dr. Mehta enjoys downhill skiing, flying, roadbiking, scuba diving, and playing in the popular local rock band "Full Arrest". |
